In 1978 Brian Smith, a young surfer from Australia, decided to go to America with a suitcase-full of sheepskin boots. He sold them in California, the surf-hub of America, and they quickly warmed up to the cold feet of the surfers there. For decades, these boots populated the surf beaches of California. Acquired by a bigger company, in 1998 the Ugg collection included just two boots and a few slippers, and targeted luxury markets. By the time the new millennium came, Nordstrom began to sell them, and Uggs became the must have item. Having been named "Brand of the Year" by Footwear News in 2003, Uggs have been selling all over America and beyond. Today, Uggs are not only the best comfort shoe in the market, but it is a must have fashion item; populating every city in America, from Los Angeles to New York City. Every year Ugg puts out a new collection, with their timeless classic boots, in short and tall styles, as well as new looks featuring latest trends, like zippers or metallic colors. With an extensive line Ugg collections feature boots, slippers, moccasins, loafers, and even flip flops, as well as a luxurious accessory collection which includes gloves, mittens and earmuffs. Since their spontaneous birth, in a way Ugg hasn't changed a bit, not succumbing to fashion, and creating their own trends, they have put forth products that are unmatchable in quality.
