Timberland
Nathan Swartz, Timberland creator, started working for what was then the Shoe Company of Abington. He quickly moved his way up and purchased it, eventually changing its name to Timberland. Targeting mainly blue collar workers, and the army and navy forces, Timberland became the first and only producer of truly waterproof leather boots. Since then, Timberland has continued succeeding at being the leading innovative brand in waterproof leather shoes. In the late 70's Italian company Ritz Firma, a subsidiary of FinRitz SpA, who was responsible for the Louis Vuitton brand and Ralph Lauren's Polo line for women, took interest in the Timberland brand. They put the Timberland work boots all over boutiques in Italy, and they sold immediately. Timberland had conquered a new frontier; the fashion world. In the nineties Timberland struck the fashion world once more, when rap and hip hop artist starting sporting the Timberland work boot. Since then, Timberland as continued to rise in the fashion world. Despite their success in pop culture, Timberland's standards for quality boots have only continue to rise and they have continue to surpass them. Seasonally showing new collections of new and improved boots and shoes, Timberland styles always feature their signature waterproof technologies as well as top quality leathers. |
