Sorel
Sorel, an extension of the Columbia Sportswear, is company responsible for the existence of one very fabulous line of winter boots. Known for its quality and warmth, it's been highly popular in Canada many years. Who's responsible for introducing Sorel to the shoe world? Kaufman Rubber Co., in 1959, and things just got better from there. Sorel later went on to become the best-selling winter boot on the world! Unfortunately, Kaufman Rubber Co. (by this point known as Kaufman Footwear) went bankrupt and Sorel was snatched up by Columbia Sportswear. Columbia then went on to expand the Sorel presence beyond the boot world. They began carrying other products, such as outerwear necessities. While Sorel used to be manufactured in Canada only, they are now also made in and imported from Vietnam, to keep us warm when summer's nowhere to be found! |
