Nine West

Founded in 1978 by Jerome Fisher and Vince Camuto, Nine West was one of the first companies to truly incorporate expert shoemaking into the manufacturing of their products. The proof is in the numbers. All it took Fisher and Camuto was once year to sell over 1 million pairs of shoes. Since the opening of it's first retail store in Stamford, Connecticut in 1983, Nine West has gone on to become a brand recognized all over the globe. Their first national ad campaign was actually put into motion in 1986, aiding in the development of the Nine West we all know and love today. With over 800 locations globally (that's 57 countries, to be exact!), Nine West has expanded quite nicely. Speaking of expansion, we should also mention their success with merchandise other than shoes. Accessories such as jewelry, sunglasses, handbags, belts, watches, and winter necessities (hats, scarves, gloves, etc.) are now all part of Nine West's product line stemming beyond footwear. Additionally, famed designers such as Vivienne Westwood and Sophia Kokosalaki teamed up with Nine West in 2006 to produce various limited edition collections. Most recently in 2009, New Balance also jumped at the opportunity to work with Nine West. The two companies made lots of customers happy when they teamed up to develop footwear that is fashionable as well as functional. Looks like the team at Nine West sure know how to keep their customer coming back for more!
