Los Angeles-based Michael Stars is cited as the founder of the "original tee" and has pioneered chic casual for more than two decades. It all started with a chance encounter with a beachside artist who inspired Michael Cohen and wife Suzanne to launch a unisex T-shirt line. The brand offers a wide selection of clothing and accessories and first opened shop in Manhattan Beach in 2001. Today, they boast 12 retail stores and are distributed throughout all 50 states as well as internationally.
