Lacoste

Lacoste was started by famous French tennis player of the 1930s Rene Lacoste. Rene Lacoste did not like the traditional tennis shirts worn by players of his time, so he set out to invent the next tennis shirt. After he made a bet with the Captain of the French team at the Davis Cup, that if he won an important game for them, he would give him a crocodile skin suitcase. Since then the Crocodile logo became his trademark, always embroidered in the blazer he wore, and later on becoming the logo of his company. Throughout the few decades proceeding its birth, Lacoste became the number one label for sportswear. It was the first choice for both tennis players and golfers. Since then Lacoste has become the father of "preppy" fashion. The original tennis shirt, now comes in dozens of colors and they have whole collections of different articles of clothing.
