Kenneth Cole

The story of Kenneth Cole shoes is a very unusual one. After having produced his first badge of shoes, with only some investment money, Kenneth Cole had to figure out a way to sell them. Back then, starting shoe companies had two options; they would sell it out of a Hilton room, or get a fancy showroom in Manhattan, both of which were very expensive. Cole had a friend in the trucking business, and so he thought why not just park a huge truck in the middle of Manhattan and sale out of there? At the time, one could only obtain a parking permit fur a truck of such size if they were a public service, like ConEdison or if they were a production company filming a movie. When Cole found this out, he went ahead and changed his name to "Kenneth Cole Productions Inc." and applied for a permit to film a movie titled "The Birth of a Shoe Company". In two and a half days he was completely sold out and had gained enough funds to proceed with his company. Almost thirty years later, Kenneth Cole shoes are one of the most successful brands in the world. With different brands like Kenneth Cole and Reaction, and different kinds of shoes, ranging from boots, to flats, to heals to sandals. They now have stores all over the country, and retail to hundreds of stores and department stores. Kenneth Cole shoes have been feature in many magazines, and are a staple shoe for the everyday working American man and woman.
