Frye
Founded in 1863 the Frye Company is the oldest shoe company in the United States. John A Frye was a pioneer in the American shoe business, literally and metaphorically. The Frye boots have been around since the mid 1800s and were the shoes worn by the pioneer Americans looking to move west at that time. Since then, Frye has been the number one American shoe company, their boots have been used in all of the wars by the military as well as worn by the public for fashion reasons. In the sixties and seventies especially, the Frye Campus boot was a staple of the fashion of the time, so much that the Smithsonian in Washington DC has them on display as an iconic item of the era. It takes over one hundred and ninety steps to make a Frye boot, and they are all held to a high standard of finest full grain leather uppers with genuine leather and premium rubber soles. Today, Frye boots remain in the spirit of the original Frye brand. Quality, comfortable, leather crafted boots with a classic all American style, are always being updated for the fashion of the time without losing their flavor. |
