Dr. Martens

Dr. Martens brand located in the UK, started with a very unlikely union. A German inventor, by the name of Dr. Kraus Maertens had many inventions, one of which was a shoe sole that was almost fully made out of air. Dr. Maertens met the Griggs family in England, a family well known for the quality shoes they produced. Together, the 1460 Dr. Marten work boot was born. At first, it was exclusively a work boot, purchased by the hundreds by farmers and construction workers. But approaching the 60s it became a revolutionary boot, different groups began adopting them as a statement of rebellion. This "anti-fashion" boot, became a staple item in many different groups’ attire, and by the time the 90s came, it was a staple item in everybody’s closet. Although concentrating in comfort, practicality and durability, the Dr. Marten’s brand has been producing shoe hits for decades. The 1460 boot, now in all kinds of colors, will continue to make its mark as it stomps through the shoe fashion world.
