Born Shoes was established in 1995, with one goal in mind: to make shoes that were beautiful and comfortable at the same time, and they have fulfilled their goal. With their stylish shoes including high heels, sandals, flats, boots and clogs, they have achieved their goal to create footwear that is aesthetically pleasing as well as extremely comfortable. Born uses a method of construction called "Opanka construction,” historically used by European shoemakers. The Opanka method is to sew the upper, sock lining and outsole at the same time using a double-needle stitch. Modern shoes rarely combine comfort, style and tradition, but with Born the wearer gets all three of these in one shoe.
