There are many celebrities who simply put their names on a brand. Â Often, these celebs never wear the products that they’re endorsing. Â Not Fergie! Â This fab solo artist and lead singer of the Black Eyed Peas talks the talk and walks the walk…in her fashionable shoe line. Â The line is self-titled Fergie and features everything from embellished flats to strappy gladiator sandals to chunky wedges to sky-high stilettos.
Best of all, Fergie clearly loves her own line. Â Though Fergie is a fashionista who loves expensive designer clothing, her shoes are very affordably priced. Â She often wears her shoes with pricey designer items, showing that she mixes and matches higher-end items with trendy cheapies just like the rest of us. Summer is here, and with that our winter wardrobe can be given a much deserved break and packed away. Time to take a break from heavy boots and make room for deliciously beautiful summer sandals. However, this summer preparation poses one potential problem: what happens when it rains, and we realize that we’re going to have to dig through the winter gear packed away to find rain boots? Fortunately, there’s no need to panic because the latest summer trend has you covered for waterproof-required scenarios: Jelly flats and Jelly sandals!

Here at DNA Footwear, we’re all about letting you know what’s hot in the shoe world right now. Â We want you to look your trendy best at all times, and we use what celebs are wearing as our gauge to figure out what fashions are up-and-coming. Â Trends, of course, start on the runway, but it can be tough to use what’s being shown at Fashion Week as your guide for what to buy at the mall. Â For one thing, many of these trends are unwearable–anyone see Lady Gaga’s crazy “Armadillo” heels? Â Yikes. Â For another, the stuff worn at the fashion shows expensive. Â And often, while trends might be showstoppers on the runway, often they never become true trends.
One of the best ways to figure out what’s going to make it from walking the runway to walking the mall is to see what celebrities are rocking. Â They are the first to pick up trends from fashion designers, and if a few big celebs are seen in a new style, it’s almost guaranteed to become a big trend. Â So when we figure out how to stock out closets, we use celeb style as out guide. Â Plus, ogling celebs is just plain old fun, right?
Enough fashion philosophy. Â Let’s get down to the good stuff: adding to our celebrity trend cheat sheet. Â Since a picture speaks a thousand words, I’ll stop here and give you the chance to check these out:

Love them or hate them, clogs seem to be here to stay–at least for the summer. Â This surprising trend has been brought into the limelight for summer 2010 by designers such as Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel and Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton. Â They’ve gotten so prevalent, in fact, that many fashion experts are have started to refer to them as “Summer’s Uggs.” Â And it makes sense: clogs are casual, go with everything, and are easy to slip on and go.
Traditionally, clogs were made entirely of wood and were worn primarily as work shoes. Â Today’s clogs are only wooden in the sole, so they’re much lighter, the uppers are made of anything from cloth to leather, and the clogs are often embellished. Â And of course, unlike olden-day clogs, modern ones are equipped with ever-fashionable sky-high heels. Â This summer, clogs are being worn with everything from casual leggings to just-off-the-runway fashions.
As is always the case with new fashions, celebrities have been the first to start making the clog trend wearable. Â They’re not mainstream yet, but they’re on their way, so pick up some clogs now and be on top of the biggest shoe trend of the summer. Havainas have long been popular among celebrities. These comfy flip-flops are the quintessential summer shoe. They are made in Brazil, and so as you might expect, they are perfect for hitting the beach and boardwalk. Havainas are light, durable, and easy to wear. They make the perfect easy-breezy complement to relaxed summer trends like sarongs, sundresses, and of course, itsy bitsy bikinis.
Celebrities have been taking advantage of the stylish comfort of Havaianas for many years. Check out style icon Jennifer Aniston, who manages to look both sexy and comfortable in her Havaianas on the set of her new movie The Baster.

 Carrie from Sex and the City Wearing Converse As my final post devoted to fashion and shoe style of the fabulous Sex and the City ladies in their most recent film, I think it’s only appropriate to discuss a timeless shoe classic: Converse. In the newest Sex and the City film, Carrie is seen in the snapshot pairing pretty urban attire with classic Converse sneakers. Even fashion gurus like Carrie from Sex and the City realize that the most sensible shoe to wear while moving large suitcases down the streets of New York City are good quality, sensible Converse. Converse shoes have been around for over a hundred years, and are American all the way. The Converse company has devoted enormous time, money, and effort into designing unique, comfortable performance shoes for a diverse population. Like Carrie from Sex and the City, I wouldn’t want to wear any other shoe than Converse either for comfort and reliability. Cowboy boots are really making a comeback, and nobody wears them quite like country cutie Taylor Swift. Â Lately, Taylor’s been pairing her boots with flowy dresses. Â I love the rather masculine, hard edge of the cowboy boot matched with an ultra-feminine dress. Â It’s appealingly different.

The lovely ladies from Sex and the City are all beautiful, yet unique. This statement encompasses their fashion choices as well. However, though different from each other, Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte all possess a natural sense of style that always looks trendy and sexy.
This innate sense of style, though different from one another, can be demonstrated in the following snapshot from the latest Sex and the City film. What I find particularly interesting is that although they are all wearing completely different ensembles (black mini dress, pink tailored pencil skirt, etc.), their choice of shoes is remarkably similar. All of them have paired neutral color shoes, such as beige, nude, and white, with their outfits. For all of them too, this shoe choice works extremely well. The Sex and the City ladies look polished, elegant, and above all, fashionable!
