2568 was born on a trip to Central America. The people behind the brand — real-life couple Lorenzo Castellon and Jamie Lawenda — were inspired by the creativity in garments, handbags, shoes and small leather goods they saw in Guatemala.
The Styles
The brand celebrates comfortable classics — with a twist. Think moccasins in unexpected materials and patterns or favorite boots featuring distinctive fabrics. These fabrics are numerous, unique and beautiful, hand loomed by women in Guatemala with fibers that are hand dyed. The designs reflect the culture of Guatemala and other Native Americans in the region.
The Name
The number 2568 is the address of Lorenzo's childhood home in Los Angeles — and the family still owns it. Jamie likes the anonymity of numbers, versus the in-your-face celebrity branding that is prevalent today, feeling it's like a password to more creative thinking — and remembrances of favorite, classic shoes from earlier times. The symbol of the company is a shoe last, which is where all shoe making begins and all fit and comfort originate.
